Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) likes to shoot guns. In 2022, she released a campaign commercial of herself shooting while stating, “I’m going to blow away the Democrats’ socialist agenda.” She was then shown shooting at a Toyota Prius with the word “socialism” written on the side.

Some condemned the tastelessness of the ad, especially since Greene had made her name in politics before her election to Congress by heckling survivors of the Parkland school shooting.

On Saturday morning, the same day that a gunman assassinated Minnesota State Rep. Melissa Hortman and shot another Democratic lawmaker, Greene posted an X message, marking the day of the 250th anniversary of the Army, while also stating, “The National Mall is hosting the coolest and most patriotic celebration today and I can’t wait for the parade this evening.” Accompanying the message were four photos of Greene, two of which showed her holding large weapons:

The long-awaited Trump military parade is scheduled for Saturday night, coinciding with Trump’s 79th birthday.

It’s not clear exactly when the photos were taken, as Greene frequently posts pictures of herself with large guns. However, the tastelessness of doing so was noted by many on social media.
