Questions about the state of the Trumps’ marriage continue to surface. Author Michael Wolff said in May, “They clearly do not in any way inhabit a marriage as we define marriage.” He added, “And I think maybe we can more specifically say they live separate lives.”
Melania Trump was not at the Iowa rally. But earlier that day, she visited children at the Children’s National Hospital in Washington and shared a light moment.
“It’s a very special day. So we will have a big party at the White House… When you feel better, maybe next year, you come over and we’ll celebrate together,” she said, according to The Daily Beast.
She also connected with the children over music, mentioning Taylor Swift and Sabrina Carpenter. This came even though Trump had previously said he “hated” Swift for not endorsing him.
Trump also used the event to take shots at Democrats.
“They wouldn’t vote only because they hate Trump, but I hate them, too, you know?” he said. “I really do. I hate them. I cannot stand them, because I really believe they hate our country.”
He celebrated the passage of his spending bill earlier that day and bragged to the crowd.
“There could be no better birthday present for America than the phenomenal victory we achieved just hours ago, when Congress passed the One Big Beautiful Bill to make America great again,” he said.
