TRUTH. JUSTICE. THE AMERICAN WAY.

SUPERMAN TRUMP. 🇺🇸 pic.twitter.com/fwFWeYonAq

— The White House (@WhiteHouse) July 11, 2025

The post came out just as a new Superman movie hit theaters, and many think the White House was trying to ride the wave of that buzz. But the reactions were not what they hoped.

Democratic Congressman Robert Garcia fired back:
“He’s literally Lex Luthor.”

Journalist Mehdi Hasan said what many were thinking:
“Just imagine the response if the Biden White House had posted something like this.”

Trump is known for comparing himself to famous figures. He’s called himself Elvis, Jesus, Churchill, Truman, and even Mother Teresa. And in 2022, he sold trading cards with his face on superhero bodies—for $99 each.

This time, though, the internet went wild.

Mario Pawlowski, an AI creator, tweeted: “Superman was an illegal immigrant. Trump is a total opposite of Superman, a Superloser.”

Another user said, “Superman wouldn’t protect pedos.”

Even actor Dean Cain, who played Superman on TV in the 1990s and is now a Trump fan, replied to the post with two laughing emojis.

Others went further. Some posted AI-generated memes of Trump as Superman—some flattering, others cruel. One meme showed him holding Kryptonite labeled “Epstein Files.”

Ron Filipkowski said the post made it look like the country was already a global laughingstock.

Even conservatives are split. Fox News host Greg Gutfeld slammed the new Superman movie for being “superwoke,” while others like Jesse Watters and Ben Shapiro admitted they didn’t even watch it before complaining.
