In a video clip with more than a million views on X, an English-language TV host in India ranted against President Donald Trump.

The anchor in the video is Palki Sharma Upadhyay, who works for FirstPost in India. In the video, the actor mocks Trump by stating, “If only Donald Trump were president in the 20th century, so much could have been avoided. The First World War, the Second World War, the nuclear arms race, the Cold War, Trump could have prevented all of it.”

“We know that all politicians are full of themselves. They can be arrogant and boastful,” she continued. “But Trump is one step ahead. He is shamelessly full of himself.”

“Thanks to his negotiations with God, the sun rises every day,” she added. “Thanks to his mediation, ships can sail on the ocean. If not for him, gravity would not exist. Give us a break. But jokes aside, there are too many reasons to disqualify Trump.”

The video went viral this week amid rising tensions between the U.S. and India over trade. Trump in recent weeks has been threatening India with higher tariffs, in term as a result of the country continuing to trade with Russia. It’s part of Trump’s threat to impose secondary tariffs on countries that buy oil from Russia, should Russia not agree to a ceasefire with Ukraine by this Friday.

Trump reiterated the threat against India on Truth Social Monday.

“India is not only buying massive amounts of Russian Oil, they are then, for much of the Oil purchased, selling it on the Open Market for big profits. They don’t care how many people in Ukraine are being killed by the Russian War Machine. Because of this, I will be substantially raising the Tariff paid by India to the USA. Thank you for your attention to this matter!!!,” the president said on this social network.

The saber-rattling comes despite Trump having a good relationship with India’s prime minister, Narendra Modi, during his first term, with the two leaders visiting each other and holding stadium rallies in their respective countries.
