Trump has never hidden his hatred for comedians who make fun of him. He has been feuding with them for years. From Jimmy Kimmel to Stephen Colbert, every time a host throws a joke, Trump throws a tantrum. Now he claims that NBC made a mistake by giving Meyers a new deal.

On Wednesday morning, Trump posted on Truth Social: “There is a sick rumor going around that Fake News NBC extended the contract of one of the least talented Late Night television hosts out there, Seth Meyers. He has no Ratings, Talent, or Intelligence, and the Personality of an insecure child. So, why would Fake News NBC extend this dope’s contract. I don’t know, but I’ll definitely be finding out!!!”

Reports show Meyers’ deal runs through 2028. But Trump still promised to “look into it,” treating the comedy host like a national problem.

This is not new. Since returning to the White House, Trump has stepped up his war on the media. He has even talked about using the FCC to punish TV networks that he says are unfair.

On Sunday he wrote: “Why is it that ABC and NBC FAKE NEWS, two of the absolute worst and most biased networks anywhere in the World, aren’t paying Millions of Dollars a year in LICENSE FEES. They should lose their Licenses for their unfair coverage of Republicans and/or Conservatives, but at a minimum, they should pay up BIG for having the privilege of using the most valuable airwaves anywhere at anytime!!!”

Trump’s anger at comedians is not just words. In his first term, he reportedly called Disney bosses to demand they silence Jimmy Kimmel over jokes. Disney owns ABC, which airs “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”

Meyers has often mocked Trump’s decisions. Earlier this year, when Trump sent the National Guard into Washington, Meyers said the president only wanted a distraction. “Trump doesn’t want to fix problems in big cities, because he loves problems in big cities. He loves problems anywhere that can distract from his problems. And he definitely has problems – his polling numbers are not great, his MAGA base is questioning his ties to Jeffrey Epstein and voters are starting to suspect that the Trump administration might be a crime pot.”

Trump once nicknamed Meyers “Marble Mouth Meyers” and said his show is not “entertainment.” But Meyers has kept up the criticism, reminding his audience that Trump struggles when the jokes are aimed at him.

Trump may think he can bully comedians into silence, but every time he attacks, he only gives them more material. NBC has not said anything about Trump’s latest rant, but the network has stood by Meyers before.
