Hillary Clinton, despite winning the popular vote in 2016, is not president. But Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) apparently thinks she is, because he ranted about holding her White House accountable on Fox News after a federal judge ruled she can be deposed over her email scandal.
The ruling is controversial because the email scandal is nearly four years old now, with the FBI twice clearing her. House Republicans also cleared Clinton, as did President Donald Trump’s own State Department.
Dredging up Hillary Clinton and her emails again, especially just ahead of the 2020 Election in November, is irresponsible and unnecessary.
But Nunes is absolutely salivating over it, and went so far as to confuse who the current president is during an interview on Fox News with Tucker Carlson.

“The American people are sick and tired of seeing the Clinton White House — or Hillary Clinton, she didn’t get prosecuted even though she had those classified emails on her server,” Nunes said.

Again, Hillary Clinton is not the president. If Nunes wants to hold a president accountable, he should be looking at Trump and the avalanche of scandals that he is involved in from Ukraine extortion to emoluments to paying hush money to an adult film star.
But, as usual, Republicans are obsessed with Hillary Clinton, and the federal judge who made this ruling should be ashamed. This is nothing but a witch hunt and only allows Republicans to rehash a fight that ended four years ago and has absolutely no legal leg to stand on — just like Devin Nunes’ seven frivolous defamation lawsuits.
