Rep. Paul Gosar (R-Ariz.) spoke at the far-right white nationalist “America First” conference recently and then somehow decided to double down on that unwise decision to support the group. It’s worth noting that the American First conference (AFPAC) is about as disgusting as it gets. Attendees are members of the America First movement and supporters of anti-Semitic podcaster Nick Fuentes, also known as Groypers — and Fuentes is a rancid piece of shit. Sorry, but there’s no other way to put it. As much as the left and the center loathe Rep. Madison Cawthorn, Fuentes went where none of us would ever go. He mocked Cawthorn for being disabled and in a wheelchair during his America First speech.
Gosar, a keynote speaker to the group, took to Twitter to publicly show his support for AFPAC via a bizarre and vulgar meme. “America First is inevitable,” which is displayed in the meme, is the motto of the “America First” white nationalist movement that Fuentes heads.

With a civil war brewing in the Republican party, one would think that a slew of its members would call for his resignation, especially after the GOP now has supporters of the batshit crazy QAnon movement in it. According to Politico, there isn’t much blowback from Republicans over Gosar speaking at the white nationalist event.

“The House GOP has so far confronted no large-scale blowback from Gosar’s speech to the America First Political Action Conference, or from other incidents that link a few of its members to far-right imagery or rhetoric,” the outlet reports. However, Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo), the House GOP Conference chair, called Gosar out.
“I think the organization that [Gosar] spoke to is one that has expressed views that are clearly racist … This is not the kind of an organization or an event that other members of Congress should be participating in,” Cheney said.
“I’ve been very clear about the extent to which we have to stand against white supremacists, stand against anti-Semitism,” Cheney added. “And that should not be part of our public discourse.”
Social media users responded to Gosar’s post.
This doesn’t even make sense. but there’s probably some disgusting meaning here that I’m not getting considering the source

Former tea party Congressman Joe Walsh called Gosar out as well and advised him to “retire from Congress.”
Paul, I say this as your friend and former colleague: You need to retire from Congress. Please don’t run for re-election. https://t.co/x4r5WAUY9S

It shouldn’t come as a surprise that Gosar’s own siblings can’t stand him.
