In 2016, then-candidate Donald Trump said that he “will do everything” to protect LGBT communities, but instead, once he got into office, he launched a nonstop onslaught against the rights of LGBTQ people. Trump became the divider-in-chief from day one, and his focus on attacking trans individuals was glaring. And even just last year, a controversial new rule that could allow homeless shelters to turn away transgender Americans based on physical appearance was the Trump administration’s latest attempt at restricting trans rights at the time. We’re not sure where the Log Cabin Republicans were when all of this took place, but they certainly remained silent.
In honor of International Transgender Day of Visibility on March 31, FOLX Health, an LGBT+ digital healthcare company, said it decided to take over a billboard along Interstate 95, outside of Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida, Pink News reports.
The blue billboard reads: “Trans lives are precious.”
TRANS LIVES ARE PRECIOUS.
Please RT if you agree. This year for #TransWeekOfVisibility and #TDOV, we took over a billboard along I-95, outside of Mar A Lago. The billboard will be up now through April 18th.If you see it in the wild, please share and tag us 💛 #FOLXHealth pic.twitter.com/P3nceN6NHy

“The company understands the importance of visibility for transgender folks to see themselves and have their value reflected in culture,” FOLX told KUTV. “With this in mind, FOLX sought out to create a moment deliberately reminding the former president (who focused on dismantling the rights of trans folks) that the community’s existence is valid and important.”
On July 26, 2017, the former president announced through a series of tweets that transgender individuals would no longer be allowed to serve in the U.S. military — and we’d link you to his tweets. But, he was banned from the platform for inciting violence following the deadly insurrection.
And now, in one of President Biden’s first executive orders since taking office, he lifted the anti-trans ban. Trump lied about looking out for the LGBTQ+ community, and instead, he sought to ostracize them. Finally, we have a president who will represent all Americans. All of us. Even the red hats.
