I don’t ever want to hear conservatives blast “cancel culture” again after Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Karen) took to Twitter to demand a meeting with U.S. Marine Corps leadership to discuss the recent criticism of Fox News host Tucker Carlson. Carlson, who has never served in the military, declared on his show that the United States military members have become “too feminine.” And then, he used his segment to mock women serving in the military.
That ended up with Carlson getting blasted by U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, whose spokesman told reporters, “The Secretary certainly shares the revulsion of so many others to what Mr. Carlson said.” He went on to say that the military still had “a lot of work to do” to become “more inclusive, more respectful of everyone — especially women.”
“We pledge to do better, and we will,” spokesman John Kirby added. “What we absolutely won’t do is take personnel advice from a talk show host or the Chinese military. Maybe those folks feel like they have something to prove. That’s on them.”
Cruz defended Carlson while seemingly trying to cancel the military.
Under Biden, the military is launching political attacks to intimidate Tucker Carlson & other civilians who criticize their policy decisions.
Officials in uniform are being used for the campaign.
I’ve demanded a meeting with the Commandant of the USMC to put a stop to it. pic.twitter.com/Ihl8xRJr0S

Cruz was ridiculed on Twitter.
The military is standing AGAINST white supremacy and standing UP FOR female soldiers. Anyone who thinks THAT is a political attack is admitting they are a white supremacist. We already knew you don’t think much of women since you wouldn’t even defend your own wife against Trump.

Not sure they’ll have time to travel down to Cancun for the meeting. Maybe a Zoom instead?

Carlson attacked women serving in the military which is a direct assault on morale. If we get into it with the Chicoms, you want members of the service not feeling fully supported by America in battle? Enough with the ridiculous outrage politics.

The US Military must not go to war with…. (looks at Ted Cruz’s fantasy outrage list)… Tucker Carlson.

Will you meet on a beach in Cancun? https://t.co/NR6ulKtJpx

Cruz is just trying to deflect from his recent trip to sunny Cancun while his constituents struggled through Texas’s weather crisis. And then there’s his part in inciting the deadly Jan. 6 insurrection.
