It seems the majority of the Republican Party has finally hit a point where they don’t even care to try to hide their deep-seated corruption anymore.

In fact, they seem to be so unashamed that they’re more than happy to take it upon themselves to personally announce it to the world.

Over the weekend, Republican Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson sat for an interview on ABC’s This Week with guest host Jonathan Karl — where Hutchinson was all too willing to openly admit to viewers that the events of January 6th, 2021, absolutely should disqualify Donald Trump from returning to the White House for a second term. However, Asa’s common sense was short-lived, after he almost immediately followed that admission up with his refusal to rule out supporting Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election he himself said Trump should be disqualified from.

Hutchinson told Karl that he hasn’t yet officially whether or not he will enter the 2024 presidential race, but confirmed that he would be paying a visit to the key state of Iowa later this month as he continues to dig into the possibility of his own presidential campaign.

When it came to Donald Trump, who’s the only person from either side of the fence to officially throw their hat into the 2024 presidential race, Karl asked Asa, “If Trump does become the Republican nominee again, will you vote for him, will you support him?”

Hutchinson started off by saying that Trump shouldn’t even make it to the nomination, as the January 6th Capitol insurrection should serve as a disqualifier for the ex-president, but he took a wide curve to blatantly avoid actually answering the question of whether or not he would support him.

“I do not believe that Donald Trump should be the next president of the United States,” the AR Republican governor said. “I think he’s had his opportunity there. I think Jan. 6 really disqualifies him for the future, and so, we move beyond that and that’s what I’m gonna be focused on.”

Karl tried to press Asa and even went so far as to remind the GOP governor that there’s always the option of writing in a different candidate’s name if Trump does end up the nominee. But ultimately, Hutchinson refused to address the question itself, or confirm that he wouldn’t ultimately support Trump if his name ends up on the ticket.

I want to see what the alternatives are, and it’s premature, Jonathan, to get into what might happen in 2024. That issue will come up. But I want to see everything I can do to make sure there is the alternative and that Donald Trump is not the nominee of the party. That’s the first thing and let’s figure out how to do that.”
