Suffice it to say, it’s been a very big day when it comes to Donald Trump and the DOJ’s wide-reaching investigation into the infamous stolen Mar-a-Lago documents.
In recent weeks, reports have been indicating that Garland-appointed DOJ Special Counsel Jack Smith has been kicking up the heat concerning his wide-reaching investigation into Donald Trump’s unlawful removal of classified government documents upon the end of his presidency and his subsequent decisions to retain, hide, and refuse to return the classified materials despite multiple legal efforts by the US federal government.
This morning, bombshell news broke from CBS News chief election and campaign correspondent Robert Costa, who took to Twitter and reported that attorneys representing scandal-plagued former President Donald Trump in the DOJ’s range of investigations were spotted entering the US Justice Department, for what is assumed to be a meeting between the legal representatives and DOJ investigators and prosecutors, as multiple experts and sources say charges in the infamous stolen document scandal are on the horizon.
Shortly after that news broke, the Wall Street Journal broke additional reporting, revealing some of the details of that meeting, including the confirmation that Donald Trump’s legal team went into the meeting with the goal “to argue against any indictment of the former president over his handling of classified documents at his Mar-a-Lago resort.”

As it stands, the scandal-ridden, corrupt former president has not been formally charged with any crimes by the US Department of Justice. However, it seems that while his lawyers were begging the DOJ not to slap him with criminal charges, Trump himself was all but simultaneously taking to his struggling Truth Social account, where he uncorked a completely deranged, all-caps meltdown over the mere prospect:
HOW CAN DOJ POSSIBLY CHARGE ME, WHO DID NOTHING WRONG, WHEN NO OTHER PRESIDENT’S WERE CHARGED, WHEN JOE BIDEN WON’T BE CHARGED FOR ANYTHING, INCLUDING THE FACT THAT HE HAS 1,850 BOXES, MUCH OF IT CLASSIFIED, AND SOME DATING BACK TO HIS SENATE DAY WHEN EVEN DEMOCRAT SENATORS ARE SHOCKED. ALSO, PRESIDENT CLINTON HAD DOCUMENTS, AND WON IN COURT. CROOKED HILLARY DELETED 33,000 EMAILS, MANY CLASSIFIED, AND WASN’T EVEN CLOSE TO BEING CHARGED! ONLY TRUMP – THE GREATEST WITCH HUNT OF ALL TIME!”
While the likes of President Biden and Donald’s former VP Mike Pence have been found in possession of classified documents they were not supposed to have, the stark difference in these situations comes down to obstruction. Biden, and even Pence, were quick to cooperate with federal authorities and willingly submitted to searches of their properties and handed over any and all classified materials in their possession, without question. Trump, on the other hand, did the exact opposite. And that’s where the trouble lies.
