Former Capitol Police Staff Sergeant Aquilino Gonell made waves on Twitter over the weekend, after he used his platform to openly call for the removal of highly controversial Georgia Republican House Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene and others from office for their perceived role in inciting the deadly violence that took place on January 6th, 2021 — the same violence that Sergeant Gonell personally helped to defend the Capitol and members of Congress from on that fateful day.
Gonell personally joined dozens upon dozens of his fellow law enforcement officials to defend the Capitol building and the members of Congress inside with his life, when Donald Trump’s mob of violent, rabid supporters stormed, defamed, and ransacked the building in a last-ditch, pathetically desperate attempt to stop the official certification of Joe Biden’s 2020 presidential election victory — an effort on their part that was clearly unsuccessful and has since earned hundreds of them and counting jail time. Gonell has since had to leave his position due, in large part, to the serious physical injuries he has suffered.
But while Gonell was willing to lay his life on the line to protect this nation, Greene and others like her are still to this day peddling unhinged, lie-filled, and downright dangerous conspiracy theories about the 2020 presidential election — the same theories that ignited that infamous, violent riot — and Gonell has had enough.
Taking to his Twitter account, the former Capitol Sergeant posted a link to a story about Couy Griffin, the local New Mexico GOP official who was removed from office as a direct result of his involvement in the infamous January 6th Capitol insurrection. Captioning the article, Gonell wrote, “Now do Trump and the house representatives and senators who help set up January 6th: Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-AL), Josh Hawley (R-MO), Mo Brooks (R-AL), Lauren Boebert (R-CO), Louie Gohmert (R-TX), Paul Gosar (R-AZ), and Andy Biggs (R-AZ).”

Donald Trump, Marjorie Taylor Greene, and others in their party have not only continued to spread the lies and conspiracy theories surrounding the 2020 election, but have vehemently expressed their undying support for the individuals who participated in the riot. The very same people who attacked and injured Gonell and others like him in the midst of the insurrection.
