Trump and his people are doing their dead-level best to put on a public facade of confidence, arrogance, and innocence when it comes to the staggering 37-count historical federal indictment lodged against the ex-president in DOJ Special Counsel Jack Smith’s investigation into the infamous stolen Mar-a-Lago documents. However, there’s no denying at this point that there is a far different tune being sung behind closed doors, as Trump World reels with the fear that their Dear Leader is about to go down in a fiery explosion of federal felonies that could stack up to a literal life sentence behind bars.
And that facade is beginning to slip.
This morning, recently-appointed Republican House Speaker Kevin McCarthy stopped to speak with reporters — or, rather, complain to reporters about the news of the bombshell Hunter Biden plea deal that broke today, which will likely see the First Son avoiding any jail time for the two misdemeanor tax fraud charges he had pleaded guilty to. However, in his rant against President Biden’s highly controversial son, McCarthy ended up letting it slip that he believes Donald Trump will see the inside of a jail cell before this is all said and done.
Reporters questioned the House Speaker this morning about the misdemeanor tax fraud charges against Joe Biden’s troubled son, apparently prompting McCarthy to compare the Hunter Biden situation to that of Donald Trump and the stolen classified document scandal — more specifically, the charges of obstruction of justice against Trump for his attempts to derail the document investigation every chance he got. That’s when the MAGA-loving Speaker of the House let it slip that he apparently expects the ex-president to do genuine jail time.

Speaking with CNN’s Manu Raju, McCarthy fumed:
Do you think it’s equal and fair that a political opponent is gonna be given jail time — but a presidential son — and if you compare this to other individuals in America that have the same accusations against them, the same crimes that they had been guilty of, they are proposed to have ten years and another time period?”
That’s the quiet part you just said out loud there, Kevin.
