Despite his sprawling and ever-growing legal woes, scandal-ridden former President Donald Trump is trying hard to stay hot on the campaign trail these days — if for no other reason than he believes his presidential campaign and a White House comeback (if he’s able to pull one off) will somehow save him from the mountain of felony charges that are currently hanging over his head, with more to come.
But in spite of his efforts to act as though he’s nothing more than a persecuted, innocent victim, Trump’s facade is quickly beginning to crack and his fear, panic, and desperation are shining through like a beacon.
This was more than a little evident during one of his recent campaign rallies, during which he took a big, long trip over to the dramatic side when he theatrically issued an apology to his crowd of supporters for being unable to make campaign pit stops in Iowa or New Hampshire because he was “sitting in a courtroom on bullshit.”
Trump dramatically fumed to his mob of supporters:
How can my corrupt political opponent, crooked Joe Biden, put me on trial during an election campaign that I’m winning by a lot, but forcing me nevertheless to spend time and money away from the campaign trail in order to fight bogus, made up accusations and charges? That’s what they’re doing.
I’m sorry, I won’t be able to go to Iowa today, I won’t be able to go to New Hampshire today, because I’m sitting in a courtroom on bullshit, because his attorney general charged me with something.”

Much to the former president’s pleasure, I am sure, this outburst spurred his crowd into loud, obnoxious chants of “Bullshit!”
Just last Thursday, Trump appeared at a federal courthouse in Washington, D.C., where he was formally arrested on an indictment from DOJ Special Counsel Jack Smith, and of course, pleaded not guilty to the four federal felony charges lodged against him, including conspiracy to defraud the United States and conspiracy against rights.
Directly following that court appearance and apparently, in spite of his literal arrest, Trump took to his Truth Social platform where he claimed to have had “a very good day,” despite being arrested on multiple criminal charges and having “to fly to a filthy, dirty, falling apart, & very unsafe Washington, D.C.”
