Now more than two years removed from the infamous, deadly January 6th attack on the United States Capitol, one US Capitol police officer who was personally in the line of fire, defending the Capitol building and the Congresspeople inside on that fateful day, is now speaking out and saying what we’ve all been thinking since we first watched the ex-president’s violent mob breach and attack the very fiber of this nation — Donald Trump should have been arrested on January 7th, 2021.
Capitol police officer Harry Dunn sat for a fiery interview with CBS News recently and finally said the quiet part loud: “They should have arrested him on Jan. 7, but I’m not the one doing the investigation. Every day that goes by, the more that is at stake.”
Adding more weight to Dunn’s scathing opinion, was the fact that it came just days after disgraced former President Donald Trump was slammed with his third formal criminal indictment by Special Counsel Jack Smith. In this case alone, the ex-president faces four very serious federal felony charges — including charges of conspiracy to defraud the United States and conspiracy against rights — all in relation to his concerted efforts to enact a coup and overthrow the 2020 United States presidential election because he could not swallow his defeat to Joe Biden.
Donald Trump has, like all the other indictments lodged against him, pleaded not guilty to these crimes.

“True accountability and true justice comes in the form of a guilty verdict,” Dunn said in his interview. “So I didn’t expect much here, but this is a necessary step to getting to that ultimate destination that I’ve been pounding the pavement for.”
Officer Harry Dunn personally fought back the violent mob that stormed the Capitol building in Donald Trump’s name on that fateful day in history, including members of the extremist Right-wing Oath Keepers militia group, who were responsible for breaching the Capitol building on a warpath to gain entry into the office of then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Dunn also personally testified to these facts during the trial of an Oath Keeper back in October.
According to his sworn testimony, Dunn told rioters that day, “I’m not letting you come this way. We have dozens of officers down. They’re taking us out on stretchers. Y’all are fucking us up.”
