Things are getting weird in the Kremlin.
According to a report from The Daily Mail, Oscar-winning Hollywood director Oliver Stone has now openly claimed that Russian dictatorial President Vladimir Putin has had cancer, but has since “licked it.”
Stone is considered to know Putin better than any other Westerner, as he spent two full years shadowing the Russian dictator, with unrestricted access, as part of a series filming of interviews. The Hollywood director stated in a recent podcast interview that he believed the Russian dictator had suffered from some form of cancer in the past, but has since recovered from it — a claim that remains unverified by the Kremlin or the Russian people.
However, Stone’s revelation is particularly pertinent as it stands, as it comes directly on the heels of claims made by former MI6 spy Christopher Steele, who has alleged that the Kremlin has been left in “‘increasing disarray and chaos” amid the ongoing war against Ukraine, due to Putin’s declining health resulting in a weakened grip on his power in the country — leading many to speculate that the Russia dictator is suffering from cancer at present time.

The Daily Mail reports, “Steele, who once operated in Russia as an MI6 agent, said Putin, 69, is having to take regular breaks to receive medical treatments and that there was effectively ‘no clear political leadership’ in Moscow.”
“Remember this, Mr. Putin has had this cancer and I think he’s licked it,” Stone told podcast interviewer Lex Fridman.
Putin’s diligent isolation and safety measures amid the COVID-19 pandemic have also led many to speculate that he has a very severe pre-existing condition that leaves him notably high risk against the virus.
“Stone’s words on cancer raise the possibility – if true – that he had initially overcome the disease, but that it returned in the three years since he met Putin,” the report notes.
