A Polling Nightmare: Even CNN Is Stunned By Trump’s Collapsing Support Among Men— Yikes!

The slide is real

It was not a good moment for Donald Trump.

On live TV, CNN data analyst Harry Enten saw the numbers and couldn’t hide his reaction.

“Yikes! Yikes, yikes, yikes!”

That reaction came after he saw Trump’s approval among young men. The numbers were not just bad. They were falling fast.

Trump’s support among male voters was one of the key reasons he won in 2024. As Enten explained, Republicans rely heavily on men to win elections because of the gender gap in U.S. politics. Now that support is slipping fast.

“The bottom line is this… male voters are abandoning Donald Trump,” Enten said.

The shift is huge. In November 2024, Trump beat Kamala Harris among men by 13 points. Now, he is seven points underwater. That is a 20-point swing in the wrong direction.

For Republicans, that is a serious warning sign.

Enten put it simply. “I think it is very difficult for Republicans to do well in this midterm cycle,” he said.

But the real shock came when he looked at young men. This group had moved strongly toward Trump between 2020 and 2024. It helped him win. Now, they are turning away just as quickly.

“Whoa!” Enten said, then added, “Yikes! Yikes, yikes, yikes!”

Trump won men under 25 by five points in 2024. Now his approval with that group sits at negative 19. That is nearly a 25-point drop. That kind of shift does not happen without a reason.

According to Enten, the answer is simple: the cost of living.

“I think there are a lot of issues… But one in particular… It’s the cost of living. It’s inflation.”

That lines up with what many Americans are feeling right now. Prices are rising. Gas costs have jumped sharply. The ongoing conflict with Iran has made things worse. Everyday expenses are hitting people harder, especially younger voters trying to get by.

And they are blaming Trump.

Heading into the 2024 election, Trump had a 10-point advantage over Harris on the economy among men. That advantage is now gone. In fact, it has flipped completely. He is now 30 points in the negative on the economy with male voters.

That is not just bad. That is politically dangerous. Enten pointed to what it could mean: “There is no way on God’s green earth that the Republican Party can hold on to the House of Representatives if this number holds.” He added, “That means see you later [to] that Republican House majority and maybe that Senate majority, as well.”
