ABC’s The View Host Said What We’ve All Been Thinking About The Possible Reason Why Melania Stays Married To Donald Trump

Be honest, you've thought the same thing.

During an episode of ABC’s The View this week, co-host Sara Haines said out loud what we’ve all thought at one point or another when she implied on the show that Melania Trump may still be married to scandal-ridden ex-President Donald Trump because he’s paying her to stick around.

Frankly, we’ve all wondered over the years what has possessed Melania Trump — the Slovenian-born former “model” and immigrant that’s been married to the former New York real estate “mogul” and washed-up reality TV “star” turned disgraceful US president — to stay married to Donald for more than 20 years and running, despite the countless scandals, alleged infidelity, and the fact that, honestly, she just doesn’t seem to like him very much.

Those questions have been reignited with newly-found ferocity as Donald Trump wades through the explosive, scandalous Manhattan District Attorney’s investigation into the alleged infamous hush money payments that Trump is said to have ordered his now-former personal attorney to make to Stormy Daniels just weeks before the 2016 election that he would go on to win, in an apparent effort to by the adult film star’s silence about their alleged sexual affair.

As the investigation gains steam and the Manhattan grand jury hears a series of damning testimonies, it seems the former president and his legal team have finally resorted to the defense that they never wanted to use, because it would mean that Trump would have to admit to his wife that the Stormy Daniels affair actually happened — something he’s historically pushed back against.

But nevertheless, the walls are closing in on the former president and his lawyers have begun to use the ex-first lady as a proverbial human shield against DA Bragg’s investigation that is said to see an official Trump indictment any day now.

In recent weeks, the Trump legal team has begun to claim that Trump did order that infamous hush money payment, but it had nothing to do with trying to protect his presidential campaign, which would, of course, be a blatant violation of campaign finance laws. Instead, the attorneys are now saying that Donald ordered the payment so his wife wouldn’t find out about the affair.

View co-host Sunny Hostin isn’t buying it.

During a panel discussion on the ABC network talk show this week, Hostin knocked down that desperate legal argument, pointing to revelations from Melania Trump’s former aide and best friend, Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, who said that Melania Trump was well aware of her husband’s affair with Daniels, far before the hush money payment was made.

“I don’t think Melania wants anything to do with the man,” Hostin said.

Co-host Joe Behar chimed in and wondered, “But why is she still there?”

At this point, Haines interjected and said what we’ve all honestly been thinking for years now, “I’m sure she gets- never mind.”

“There have been allegations,” Hostin noted.

“There could be monies in exchange, deals made,” Haines theorized.

Hostin, who is also an attorney herself, encouraged Haines to add “allegedly” to her train of thought, prompting Haines to exclaim, “I said allegedly!”

Haines’ remarks were first reported on by The Wrap.

Now, of course, we cannot say with any level of certainty whether or not Donald Trump pays his wife to stay married to him. We’re just saying, we’ve all wondered about it at some point or another.
