As Trump’s public impeachment hearings, complete with testimonies from Bill Taylor and George Kent, carry on full steam ahead, it’s pretty clear that the White House doesn’t want the American public to think that Donnie gives a damn.
Now, we all know that Trump’s holed up somewhere pacing a hole into the floor, nearly shitting himself with panic, while he snorts whatever Adderall he can find lying around the place to hopefully help quell his ragged nerves.
However, his new Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham would really rather you all believe that the dude’s actually doing something presidential. So, in an attempt to set the narrative around what the “president” is up to today, as yet another batch of witnesses damn him to the pits of impeachment Hell, this time for all the public to see, Grisham has told reporters that “He’s in the Oval in meetings. Not watching. He’s working.” — certainly not tuning in to the testimonies that will likely be earning him a new address before Christmas.

And there for a while, we almost bought it, as Donnie’s Twitter feed went uncharacteristically quiet for a bit. However, this is Donald Trump we’re talking about — God knows the man’s not actually “working” and those Twitter thumbs of his started to withdraw rather quickly.
Frankly, Sarah’s replacement really should’ve checked with Donald before she made such a bold statement, or at the very least taken his phone away from him — because, since her little announcement, Trump has been on a retweeting spree, firing off more than a dozen retweets in less than an hour — a pretty good indicator that he’s not actually in those meetings that Stephanie claimed would be taking up his time today.
He’s really covering all his bases too, with retweets disparaging Schiff, White House videos of himself talking about how he’s “fighting for you,” and lots of advertisements for “human scum” like Jim Jordan and Devin Nunes.
The dude’s seriously worse than a teenager when it comes to that Twitter account. I don’t know who Stephanie thought she’d be kidding by telling folks that Trump was “working,” but c’mon.
