As The Virus Continues To Ravage Texas, Governor Abbott Posted A Photo Of Himself Playing A Fiddle At Political Event

That's some really bad optics, dude.

Like some other Republican leaders, Gov. Greg Abbott opposed mask mandates and other measures to combat the spread of Covid-19, but now the disease is surging in Texas. When President Joe Biden took office, his administration was laser-focused on the pandemic. Still, red states didn’t want to comply with wearing a simple face mask or getting vaccinated, so we see states becoming ravaged again with COVID. Louisiana, Florida, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Alabama have the most new cases per capita, and Texas is looking bad, too.

A photograph is circulating that Abbott reportedly posted on social media, showing him playing the fiddle during what appears to be a maskless political event.

Twitter users piled in.

One Twitter user brought up Barack Obama’s birthday party. I certainly disapproved of the former president’s decision, even though all guests were fully vaccinated. I don’t think anyone here at the Political Tribune thought that was a good idea.

This is so depressing. Americans have been through hell and back, and now Republicans want to send all of us back to hell. They’re killing their constituents to own the libs — what a weird time to be alive.
