According to disturbing confirmation from a bombshell new Axios report, newly-appointed Republican Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy has personally handed over a staggering 41,000 hours of raw surveillance footage, hailing from the deadly January 6th attack on the Capitol building, to none other than Fox News primetime talking head Tucker Carlson.
Axios broke the disturbing news, “Carlson TV producers were on Capitol Hill last week to begin digging through the trove, which includes multiple camera angles from all over Capitol grounds. Excerpts will begin airing in the coming weeks.”
“Now his shows — ‘Tucker Carlson Tonight’ on Fox News, and ‘Tucker Carlson Today’ and ‘Tucker Carlson Originals’ on the streaming service Fox Nation — have a massive trove of raw material.”
Carlson personally spoke with Axios and confirmed that he handed the raw footage over to the highly-controversial Right-wing Fox host, explaining, “[T]here was never any legitimate reason for this footage to remain secret. If there was ever a question that’s in the public’s interest to know, it’s what actually happened on January 6. By definition, this video will reveal it. It’s impossible for me to understand why any honest person would be bothered by that.”

Axios‘ Mike Allen noted that much of the footage in question had already been aired publicly by the now-disbanded January 6th House Select Committee throughout their long-running investigation and public hearings into the violent attack.
However, there’s no denying that Tucker Carlson is actively preparing to use this raw footage to further his lies and efforts to downplay the deadly severity of the infamous January 6th Capitol insurrection. Carlson infamously referred to the Capitol attack as nothing more than “vandalism” and has repeatedly declared that January 6 defendants have been treated worse than literal murderers with regard to their respective trials. All of this is, of course, in spite of the fact that multiple Capitol police officers were violently assaulted — the very same officers that the Right pledged to throw their support behind in their “Back the Blue” movement, until, of course, it goes against the MAGA agenda — and countless member of US Congress were threatened and endangered throughout the attack, including the literal vice president of the United States.
Add to that the fact that Slate conducted a review last year that found that only a measly 15 percent of January 6th defendants were ever even held in jail, and J6 rioters were a whopping 4 times less likely to be held in jail ahead of their trials than the average federal defendant.
To make matters that much more interesting still, this disturbing development comes as a massive trove of damning revelations went public in the ongoing defamation lawsuit lodged against Fox News by Dominion Voting Systems — one of which confirmed that Tucker Carlson, specifically, was absolutely, fully aware of the fact that the “election fraud” claims that motivated the January 6th attack and served as the “reason” behind Donald Trump’s 2020 loss were nothing short of baseless lies. In fact, one text message from Carlson to his producer shows the Fox talking head actually raging against Donald Trump’s conspiracy theories, fuming, “We worked really hard to build what we have. Those f—ers are destroying our credibility. It enrages me.”
