According to breaking new reporting from The Daily Mail, President Joe Biden has formally fired the Architect of the Capitol, as of today, who was appointed to the high-ranking position by his scandal-ridden predecessor, former President Donald Trump.

The tabloid reports that now-former Capitol Architect Brett Blanton has been under increasing fire and scrutiny in recent weeks, in connection to multiple scandals and possible crimes, in his capacity as the Architect of the Capitol — a “federal agency responsible for the maintenance, operation, development, and preservation of the United States Capitol Complex” — including but not limited to alleged misuse of federal resources and posing as a law enforcement agent.

But the most interesting of Blanton’s scandals is his personal admission to Congress that he intentionally avoided the Capitol building on January 6th, 2021, the day of the infamous, deadly attack on the Capitol and Congress, enacted by a violent mob of now-former President Donald Trump’s most savage and unhinged supporters, as they attempted to bring a stop to the certification of Joe Biden’s Electoral College presidential election win over the 45th president.

“Blanton faced bipartisan heat last week during a hearing where members from both parties on the House Administration Committee called for his resignation,” The Daily Mail reports on the bombshell development. “Blanton had already faced allegations of using a government vehicle for personal use and posing as a law enforcement officer, but during the hearing Thursday he admitted that he intentionally avoided the Capitol on January 6, 2021.”

Blanton, or any Architect of the Capitol, could only be terminated from such a high-ranking position by the President of the United States, Joe Biden.

In speaking with Congress regarding January 6th, Blanton said that he didn’t feel it would be “prudent” to show up to work that day. Instead, the man whose entire job description is managing the Capitol complex remained in his government-issued vehicle, telling Congress that his car served as his “mobile command post,” where he listened in on police radios and barked orders from afar.

Blanton is currently embroiled in other scandals, including repeated misuse of government-issued resources and impersonating a law enforcement officer after a family member experienced a hit-and-run — and an October 26th report by the Office of the Inspector General said it found “evidence of criminal violations throughout the investigation.”

However, the former Capitol Architect’s damning admission regarding that fateful day in January of 2021 certainly begs the question of what he knew prior to the attack.
