The ages-old saying “Birds of a feather flock together” has never really rung quite as true as it does right this moment.

According to a damning new expose from the local publication, the Nebraska Examiner, one of the leading candidates in the Republican primary for governor of Nebraska, Charles Herbster, has been accused of disgustingly groping at least 8 different women — one of which was a state senator.

Now, what does this have to do with the old birds of a feather saying? Well, Charles Herbster was officially, publicly endorsed for Nebraska’s GOP governor by none other than disgraced ex-president and serial sexual assaulter, Donald J. Trump.

The bombshell report from the Examiner states that “all the incidents occurred between 2017 and this year” and “the women ranged in age from their late teens to mid-20s at the time of the incidents.”

Herbster currently serves as the CEO of Conklin Co. and notably received the full and total endorsement of ex-President Trump as his Republican pick to replace outgoing, term-limited GOP Governor Pete Ricketts.

Even before the news of his disgusting groping hit the media cycle, Herbster was already poised as a highly controversial candidate, after outgoing Governor Ricketts publicly broke with the one-term, twice-impeached former president following Trump’s endorsement of the Republican gubernatorial candidate. “While I agree with President Trump on many things, I strongly disagree that Charles Herbster is qualified to be our next governor,” Rickett, the founder of TD Ameritrade who had no trouble getting reelected in 2018, said of Herbster and Trump’s endorsement of him.

The outgoing governor, who has thrown his support behind a different gubernatorial candidate, added, “Nebraska deserves better.”

If people weren’t already turned off from Herbster by Rickett’s ominous warnings, this damning expose should certainly do the trick.

Of the eight women who spoke with the Examiner regarding their allegations of unwanted touching by the Trump-backed gubernatorial candidate, 7 of them spoke under the condition of anonymity. However, the eighth woman, Republican State Sen. Julie Slama, went public with her allegations against Herbster.

Slama told the publication that during a 2019 event “as she walked by Herbster, he reached up her skirt, without her consent, and touched her inappropriately.”

“The incident happened in the middle of a crowded ballroom at the Douglas County Republican Party’s annual Elephant Remembers dinner,” the Examiner reports. Another woman claims that the Republican gubernatorial hopeful “cornered her privately and kissed her forcibly.”

“Being a conservative Republican woman in politics, you just expect to be treated with respect. To be treated in that way in a public event, in front of everyone, just to prove, I believe, that he could get away with it, and not having recourse, it’s terrifying,” the publication quotes another alleged victim of Herbster’s.

Herbster’s campaign manager Ellen Keast has already vehemently denied the expose and any allegations made within it in a statement directly to the Examiner, calling their article a “political hit-piece built on 100% false and baseless claims.” She went on to claim that the allegations lodged against the Republican candidate were falsified by the “political establishment” with the intent of “smearing and trying to destroy him with lies.”

Does that sound like something anyone else we know would say?
