Donald J. Trump built his entire 2016 presidential campaign on a cruel promise that never quite came to full fruition, but resulted in some of the more horrendous acts committed by this nation all the same — a border wall.
Trump has been pushing for the cruelest, most horrific, most inhumane, and unusual immigration policies this nation has ever seen since the day he announced his bid for president of the United States.
Over the course of the past three and a half years, his border wall has been largely unsuccessful and he’s instead made do with the sadistic, brutal detention centers at our southern border.
However, as Trump remains futile in his attempts to pull off the immigration and border policies he’s been itching for all these years, the tables are beginning to turn on him as he continues to completely botch this nation’s response to the pandemic that’s killed far more than one hundred thousand people in America alone.

In a new turn of events, as Canada has absolutely excelled at calming the spread of infection in their country, Canadian citizens are seemingly demanding that their government keep their borders closed to Americans as our nation continues to suffer massive infection and death rates on the daily.
A report from Buffalo News features a recent poll showing that 81 percent of Canadian citizens want the border between the two countries to remain closed and New York Rep. Brian Higgins found himself on the receiving end of a boatload of backlash from Canadians on Twitter earlier this month when he expressed his support for reignited travel between the two neighboring countries.

“Stay where you are,” one Twitter user responded to Higgins. “Get COVID under control, release children separated from their parents and detained in inhumane conditions. Remove Trump.”

“That Border stays CLOSED,” another Twitter user responded. “Canadians may be polite but we aren’t CRAZY!”

During an interview with Buffalo News, Higgins stood by his desire to see the border between the two countries reopened but did acknowledge the concerns of the majority of Canadians.
“They view Americans as super-spreaders and a direct threat to the health and safety of their citizens in the province of Ontario, in the country of Canada,” he stated.
Canada hit its peak of new daily infection on May 2nd, at a daily average of 1,800. Since then, their daily average has dropped to 331.
Respectively, the United States has gone from a 27,000 daily average of new infections to a startling 61,000 infections per day, over the course of the same period of time.
At this point, Trump doesn’t have to worry about his disgusting immigration policies. This country is so screwed that everywhere else is trying to stop us from coming in.
