Security camera images have revealed a chilling moment from the morning of June 14. In the photos, 57-year-old Vance Luther Boelter is seen knocking on a lawmaker’s door. He appears to be wearing a latex mask and a security uniform. Police believe he was attempting to impersonate a real officer.

Soon after that, shots were fired.

Boelter is now the main suspect in a series of violent attacks on Minnesota lawmakers. Around 2 a.m., Senator John Hoffman and his wife Yvette were both shot at their home in Champlin.

Just over an hour later, police rushed to check on former House Speaker Melissa Hortman. At her home in Brooklyn Park, they found a shocking scene. Hortman and her husband Mark had been shot and killed.

When officers arrived at the house, they saw the suspect walking out. He shot at them. They fired back, but he managed to run away.

What makes this even more terrifying is what police found next. Inside a car linked to Boelter, officers found a list. It named about 70 people, including Governor Tim Walz, Senator Tina Smith, Representative Ilhan Omar, and Attorney General Keith Ellison. It also included abortion providers and pro-choice activists.

Officials are calling this a hit list.

They also found flyers for the “No Kings” movement in the car. The group is known for organizing protests across the country on the same day as Donald Trump’s military parade. Investigators now believe this could be part of a bigger political plan.

The car also had a fake badge, a police-style light, and equipment that made the suspect appear to be law enforcement. This helped him get close to his victims.

At a press briefing, Governor Walz stated that the state will utilize every available tool to identify the person responsible. “We are not a country that settles our differences with violence,” he said. “This was targeted political violence.”

Senator Amy Klobuchar called the shootings “stunning.” Mayor Zach Lindstrom stated that violence is unacceptable in any democracy. Former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords said the attack is a threat to everything this country stands for.

Police say Boelter is still at large. He is armed and very dangerous. Officers are warning the public to be careful. Residents are urged not to open their doors unless two verified officers are present.
