Inside sources have reportedly spoken with ABC News and confirmed a bombshell new development in the stolen Mar-a-Lago classified document case against Donald Trump, and it’s truly damning for the scandal-ridden former president who is already drowning in legal peril from every conceivable direction.
Trump has, of course, repeatedly attempted to distance himself from the infamous stolen document scandal, especially after a handful of documents were discovered at President Biden’s home and former office. However, this particular new development in the case has effectively destroyed any chance the ex-president had at pulling away from this mess.
According to bombshell reporting from ABC News, citing inside sources familiar with the matter, Donald Trump’s legal team turned over a folder found to contain classified government material to the Biden Department of Justice last month. Unnamed sources spoke with ABC and confirmed that the additional classified materials were discovered at a property separate from the Trump storage unit that was discovered to contain classified materials late last year. The sources did not specify the contents of the folder or the level of classification of the materials inside it.
However, in addition to the folder ABC News also confirmed that Trump’s team turned over a laptop belonging to one of Donald’s aides to federal officials. That report was corroborated by CNN.

CNN reports, “The Trump attorneys discovered the documents with classified markings in December, while searching through boxes at the former president’s Mar-a-Lago residence. The lawyers subsequently handed them over to the Justice Department.”
“A Trump aide had previously copied those same documents onto a thumb drive and laptop, not realizing they were classified. The laptop, which belonged to an aide, who works for Save America PAC, and the thumb drive were also given to investigators in January.”
New York University School of Law professor Ryan Goodman said this damning development in the document case is “a BIG deal.”
Goodman noted in a tweet, “Potentially means *dissemination* of the classified docs to third parties (not just retention). It’s multiple classified docs. Trump aide, at PAC, on unsecure laptop.”

John Cohen, former acting undersecretary for intelligence at the Department of Homeland Security, gave an interview with ABC and said, “It is customary in circumstances such as this for investigators to search the computer to see if classified material is still on that computer. They will also seek to determine if classified material was transmitted electronically to other computers or devices via that computer.”
After the bombshell ABC News report broke, a Trump spokesperson spoke out in response, stating that the entire investigation is “nothing more than a targeted, politically motivated witch hunt against President Trump, concocted to try and prevent the American people from returning him to the White House.”
