Damning New Poll Is Going To Ruin Trump’s Day: Majority Of American Voters Would Support SCOTUS Action To Ban Donald Trump From Ballots

Ouch. That's gotta sting.

Donald Trump has recently cited the large amount of MAGA yard signs he’s seen around his Mar-a-Lago resort and home down in Florida as his version of proof that he cannot possibly lose the 2024 presidential election — and he’s already teeing up to scream “fraud” from the rooftops for the second election in a row if he does lose because those very yard signs are picture proof in his mind that Biden can’t beat him without cheating.

However, the real polls across the country are painting a far more dismal picture for the scandal-plagued former president and it’s all but guaranteed to ruin the big guy’s day when he catches wind of the truth.

A new ABC News/Ipsos poll went public late last week that shaped up as some bad news for ex-President Trump, showing that the majority of American voters would be in support of some sort of Supreme Court ruling that barred Donald Trump’s name from the 2024 ballots, essentially banning him from ever returning to office.

The states of Colorado and Maine recently made the historic decision to deem Donald Trump ineligible to include his name on their 2024 presidential ballots, under the Constitution’s 14th amendment insurrection clause. Trump was closely involved in inciting an insurrection on January 6th, therefore he is ineligible as a presidential candidate — simple as that.

Earlier this month, the United States Supreme Court agreed to hear arguments from the former president and 2024 candidate in an effort to reinstate him to the CO and ME ballots. Oral arguments are set to begin on February 8th and a decision is expected to come soon thereafter, as the impending GOP primaries could be subject to disruption.

To be frank, it’s highly unlikely that the SCOTUS will uphold the states’ decisions to remove Donald Trump from their ballots. The US Supreme Court is not only highly conservative these days, it was hand-stacked by Trump himself, who appointed 6 out of the 9 judges.

However, things are much different for the former president in the court of public opinion.

The brutal new poll shows that 49 percent of American voters would support some form of SCOTUS action that would bar Donald Trump from the ballot. Only 46 percent of Americans oppose it.

Further, 30 percent of voters feel that the former president should be formally deemed an insurrectionist under the 14th amendment and effectively barred from every ballot across the country, while 26 percent believe the SCOTUS should allow the ballot matter to be left to the discretion of the individual states.

When looked at all together, a total of 56 percent of US voters would support a Court action that barred Donald Trump from some or all state ballots in the 2024 presidential election. Only 39 percent feel that the Court should deem Trump eligible for every state ballot across the country.

Regardless of how much and how hard Donald Trump is desperately trying to rig the game in his favor, the fact of the matter is, he’s losing support where it matters the most and he’s losing it fast.
