With Donald Trump headed back into office, both Trump himself and several of his colleagues and cronies have managed to avoid legal liability for actions committed on Trump’s behalf.

But one Trump crony in particular, Rudy Giuliani, hasn’t been nearly so lucky. Giuliani has been sued multiple times, most notably by a pair of Georgia election workers who claim Giuliani defamed them by claiming they were part of a conspiracy to overturn the 2020 election. A $148 million verdict went against the former America’s Mayor in late 2023, with the time since then taken up by legal fights by the plaintiffs to claw back Giuliani’s assets, including his residences and a car that once belonged to actress Lauren Bacall.

Giuliani faces jail, for contempt of court, for his refusal to transfer $11 million in assets to the plaintiffs in the case. But he had an unusual concern in his most recent court appearance: The former politician was unhappy about the courtroom sketch that was drawn of him.

The former mayor lashed out at Jane Rosenberg, the courtroom sketch artist, for a previous sketch.

“The last time you made me look like my dog,” Giuliani said in court, as reported by the New York Daily News.

The case is a civil case, meaning that Giuliani is outside of the purview of the federal pardon power, and Trump cannot save him. The former mayor has spent much of the last year haggling over which items he is ordered to hand over, including his New York condo, sports memorabilia, watches, and more.

It’s been part of a sharp fall from grace for the man who was mayor of New York City on 9/11, and was for a time among the world’s most admired men. Since Trump’s first election, Giuliani has been disbarred in both New York and Washington, has gotten divorced, has failed to have any success in court as Trump’s attorney during his contesting of the 2020 election, was embarrassed as part of the second Borat movie, and has been the subject of multiple criminal investigations, one of which led to an indictment in the Georgia RICO case, although that case remains in limbo.
