Over the weekend, a new report broke from the New York Times that has left us more disgusted with the Trump GOP than we ever knew we could be — and trust me, we’ve been extremely disgusted with them over the years.

According to the deeply disturbing new report, a personal diary belonging to now-President Joe Biden’s daughter, Ashley Biden, was passed around among guests at a Florida fundraiser held for now-former President Donald Trump just two short months before the 2020 presidential election that Trump would go on to brutally lose to his Democratic opponent.

The Times was reportedly able to interview various individuals with direct knowledge of the situation, as well as review other connected documents, and ultimately patch together a timeline of how Project Veritas, a highly-controversial Conservative “activist” group that’s notorious for “sting operations,” ultimately got their hands on Ashley Biden’s personal diary.

Back in November of last year, NYT reported at the time that federal investigators carried out a court-ordered search of the group’s founder, James O’Keefe’s, home in connection to his alleged possession of Biden’s diary. While O’Keefe has not directly admitted to possessing the now president’s daughter’s personal belongings, he has confirmed that his group, Project Veritas, is under federal investigation in connection to the diary reportedly belonging to Ashley Biden.

In a video statement where he confirmed the search of his home, O’Keefe said, “It appears the Southern District of New York now has journalists in their sights for the supposed crime of doing their jobs lawfully and honestly. Our efforts were the stuff of responsible, ethical journalism and we are in no doubt that Project Veritas acted properly at each and every step.”

Sources allegedly told the New York Times that just shortly after the personal diary was passed around the September 2020 Trump fundraising event, Project Veritas made a call directly to Ashley Biden under false pretenses in an attempt to trick the now-President’s daughter to verify the authenticity of the diary. Another source told the publication that Project Veritas eventually paid $40,000 to purchase the diary.

O’Keefe has insisted that his Conservative group did not acquire the diary illegally, which was never published, although they allegedly had hopes of doing so. O’Keefe has given a statement to the Times following the report and attacked what the publication wrote, stating, “Imagine writing so thoroughly divergent from reality and so mendacious with innuendo that there is literally no utterance that won’t make it worse.”
