DNC Perfectly Trolls Trump By Renting Taco Truck To Mock His ‘TACO’ Slogan

The DNC is trying to push the "TACO" reference to Trump further into the mainstream.

The term “TACO” entered the lexicon last month when Robert Armstrong, a columnist for the Financial Times, coined it, which stands for “Trump Always Chickens Out.” The term is used in the context of Trump and the announcement of new tariffs, which the president has often backed down from. “The TACO Trade” is a term used by Wall Street professionals to refer to planning financial moves to predict and capitalize on Trump’s reversals, thereby making money.

It appears that Trump dislikes the term, as he snapped at a reporter who asked him about it last week. And now, the Democratic National Committee is trying to rub it further in.

Axios reported early on Tuesday that the Democratic National Committee was planning on “commandeering a taco truck” and parking it near the headquarters of the Republican National Committee in Washington, complete with the “Trump Always Chickens Out” slogan and “a graphic of Trump in a chicken suit.”

The truck debuted Tuesday for “Taco Tuesday,” and the tacos were free.

“With his idiotic trade policy, he talks a big game, caves, and then leaves working families and small businesses to deal with the fallout,” DNC chair Ken Martin said to Axios. “Trump always chickens out — we’re just bringing the tacos to match.”

The taco truck reportedly ran out of tacos at one point on Tuesday.

The taco truck plan drew a rebuke from Vice President JD Vance.

“We have the lamest opposition in American history,” Vance said on X on Tuesday.

But then the DNC fought back against Vance:

“We understand that JD Vance, the cringiest VP in American history who cannot order a donut like a normal human being, prefers to take food away from people — including 40 million Americans whose SNAP benefits are under threat from Trump and the GOP’s budget bill,” DNC deputy communications director Abhi Rahman told The Hill in a statement.
