Don Jr.’s Fiancée Celebrates At Mar-a-Lago, But Melania Trump Is A No-Show

So much for family unity

Don Jr.’s fiancée hosted a bridal shower at Mar-a-Lago on Sunday, and the guest list pointed to a familiar family divide. Donald Trump Jr. and his family showed up in force, except for one very noticeable absence: Melania Trump.

Ivanka Trump, Tiffany Trump, and even Marla Maples were present for the celebration. The setting was Mar-a-Lago, a property Melania once described in her documentary as her “refuge from the outside world.” On Sunday, however, that refuge did not extend to bridal showers.

The event itself leaned fully into luxury. The ballroom was decorated with florals, while the menu included burrata salad, chicken roulade, and mixed berries for dessert.

“The shower was gorgeous,” a source told People. “The event was held mostly inside and was lovely, but there were guests hanging outside some of the time.”

Don Jr. appeared briefly as well, arriving with roses and posing for photos alongside Bettina Anderson, Tiffany Trump, Marla Maples, and Mackenzie Moon Phelan, daughter of the Secretary of the Navy.

Marla Maples documented the occasion on Instagram with a noticeably upbeat tone. “Last Sunday was such a beautiful day celebrating Bettina’s bridal shower,” she wrote. “Sharing this special moment with my daughter Tiffany made it even more meaningful. What a gift to celebrate love, friendship, and family.”

That warmth stood in contrast to what followed inside the same family circle.

Melania’s absence echoes past divisions inside the family. Trump’s children skipped the premiere of her documentary earlier this year, while Don Jr. reportedly hosted a competing afterparty. In another instance, Melania did not invite Ivanka, Don Jr., or Eric to Barron Trump’s 20th birthday, with only Tiffany attending. She also skipped Tiffany Trump’s baby shower in Miami.

The result is a family calendar that rarely lines up.

“Melania can’t stand Bettina,” one user wrote on X. “I don’t know why. I have a video where she was giving her a very bad look, plus she ignored her when she greeted her and Trump.”

Neither Melania’s representatives nor the White House offered any explanation, which in the age of social media is essentially the same as offering one.

Meanwhile, wedding talk is already moving ahead. An insider told Inquisitr that a White House wedding would “set them up for future political roles, whether Don Jr. goes after the presidency or something else.” The couple is currently expected to marry at Mar-a-Lago, though reports note the ballroom renovation would require congressional approval.
