Now that Special Counsel Robert Mueller is closing in and exposing the lies of Donald Trump and his corrupt team one by one, the president and his minions are under severe scrutiny for the past lies they’ve told to America.

This week, Trump was exposed for having financial ties to Russia, and now an old clip of his former campaign chairman, Paul Manafort, has come back into the spotlight. The Manafort interview resurfaced recently thanks to CNN and was aired by reporter Don Lemon, who couldn’t help but laugh hysterically at the “really, really awkward” response Manafort gave as he tried to defend the president.

During the 2016 interview with Manafort, CBS News anchor Norah O’Donnell asked Manafort, “So to be clear, Mr. Trump has no financial relationships with any Russian oligarchs?”

The way Manafort struggled with this response was a sure giveaway. Stumbling all over his words and looking incredibly dishonest, Manafort said:

That’s what he said. That’s what I said. That’s obviously what the, what our position is.”

Lemon lost it as he played the footage, and thought it was so hilarious that he had to play the clip again. Lemon, still fighting back laughter, said:

“That was really, really awkward. I still have no idea what he said there.”

You can watch the clip below:

This clip is gaining so much attention right now due to a confession that Trump’s own former longtime attorney, Michael Cohen, recently gave. Yesterday, it was reported that Cohen told a court that discussions about a setting up a Trump Tower real estate project in Moscow, Russia had gone on for several months past the president’s campaign, continuing on as late as June 2016. Manafort clearly knew that in this clip, because it’s the worst attempt at lying we’ve ever seen.
