Donald Trump Once Said The Quiet Part Out Loud About His Own Children: “I Won’t Do Anything To Take Care Of Them”

He doesn't even try to hide it.

Donald Trump has never been someone we would describe as “Father of the Year” material. Frankly, the man has been wildly problematic with each and every one of his children.

It seems he can’t stand his youngest son, Barron, buying him inappropriate toys in his young childhood, seemingly forgetting that the kid even belongs to him at all, growing increasingly jealous of the teenager’s height and vigor, and all but accusing the youngest Trump child of ruining his marriage, because he just doesn’t get along with him.

It’s often easy to forget that Trump’s youngest daughter, Tiffany, who he shares with his second wife Marla Maples, even exists, for all that Donald actually pays attention to her. He never brags about her, he never proclaims his love and pride for her, and instead allegedly just picks her apart for being the “fat” one.

His eldest son and namesake, Don Jr., only acts as Daddy’s protege, doing his bidding at every opportunity while middle son Eric suffers the worst of the worst of “middle child syndrome” and handles all of Daddy’s grifting in hopes that one day he’ll actually say he loves him.

But perhaps the worst of them all is his deeply disturbing relationship with his eldest daughter Ivanka which, let’s be honest, regularly teeters on the edge between disgustingly inappropriate and downright incestuous. Even just in recent weeks, we’ve been slammed with horrifying revelations that exposed Donald’s obsession with his eldest daughter that was so severe, his own chief of staff had to remind him that Ivanka is, in fact, his flesh and blood child, as well as Trump’s habit of sending his eldest daughter to cut certain deals because Donald honestly believed “all men want to sleep with her.”

Suffice it to say, you could spend years, decades even, picking apart Trump’s deeply disturbing relationships with each of his individual children, and you’d still never get to the bottom of it all.

But believe it or not, Trump himself actually once said the quiet part loud when it comes to how he parents his own children. Spoiler alert — he doesn’t.

In a 2005 interview with Howard Stern, the pair discussed the possibility of having more children with his third wife Melania, to which Trump proudly said:

Cause I like kids. I mean, I won’t do anything to take care of them. I’ll supply funds and she’ll take care of the kids. It’s not like I’m gonna be walking the kids down Central Park.”

This tidbit was part of a larger dive into “Donald Trump’s Trail of Comments About Women,” covered in a 2016 piece by the New York Times. If you feel like losing your lunch today, give that a read.
