It seems Donald Trump is officially done with ever trying to hide where he stands when it comes to the fateful events on January 6th, 2021, and the people who participated in that deadly attack against the nation’s Capitol building — all in the now-former president’s name.
Recently, the scandal-ridden, one-term, twice-impeached ex-president made his feelings more than well-known when he took to his struggling Twitter alternative, Truth Social, and openly called for the release of all of his supporters who have been jailed in connection to their participation in the January 6th attack on the Capitol, in an effort to stop the certification of Joe Biden’s election win and keep Trump in power, where he did not belong.
“Start treating the January 6th protestors [sic] fairly. Let them all go now!” Trump fumed in the lengthy state he posted to Truth Social.
This is far from the first time Donald Trump has publicly floated the notion that Capitol rioters should be released from jail, repeatedly calling the treatment of his mob of rabid supporters “unfair” and even going so far, on multiple occasions, as to suggest that he will pardon all of the individuals involved in the infamous, deadly insurrection, should he successfully make his way back into the White House.

One of the most disturbing revelations related to the matter came earlier this year when the disgraced former president confirmed that he has been footing the legal bills and “financially supporting” several of the Capitol attackers.
Business Insider reports, “More than 900 people have so far been charged in connection with the insurrection on January 6, 2021, during which a pro-Trump mob stormed inside the Capitol building in a bid to stop the certification of Joe Biden’s election victory.”
Donald Trump has since officially announced his run for president again in 2024.
