According to President Donald J. Trump himself, the scandal-ridden former US president will be slammed with yet another historical criminal indictment this evening, this time in connection to the US Justice Department’s wide-reaching investigation into Donald’s efforts to overthrow the 2020 presidential election and his personal role in inciting the deadly violence that took place at the Capitol on January 6th.

Trump personally announced the expectation of an indictment from DOJ Special Counsel Jack Smith on charges related to January 6th in a post on his Truth Social platform this afternoon. According to the ex-president, the indictment for his interference in the 2020 presidential election is expected to drop today, at 5 PM.

Donald Trump wrote on Truth Social today:

I hear that Deranged Jack Smith, in order to interfere with the Presidential Election of 2024, will be putting out yet another Fake Indictment of your favorite President, me, at 5:00 P.M. Why didn’t they do this 2.5 years ago? Why did they wait so long? Because they wanted to put it right in the middle of my campaign. Prosecutorial Misconduct!”

Dozens upon dozens of reporters with various outlets have gathered inside the courthouse this evening, awaiting the news of the potentially impending indictment against former President Trump.

A grand jury was convened in a Washington D.C. courthouse today to go over the evidence collected against Donald Trump and any potential co-conspirators in the Department of Justice’s long-running investigation into Trump’s attempts to overthrow the 2020 election and his incitement of the infamous Capitol insurrection. As the jury dispersed earlier today, there were no indications one way or the other as to whether or not Donald Trump was expected to be charged.

This development comes as Donald Trump faces multiple historical criminal indictments across multiple states, for multiple crimes — including the Manhattan hush money indictment, Special Counsel Jack Smith’s 37-count federal indictment in the stolen document case, a recent new subsequent indictment for obstruction in the same case, and an expected indictment for election interference in the state of Georgia by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis.
