We’ve all found ourselves wondering over the years if Melania Trump really even likes her husband at all — after all of the snide, dirty looks and snubbed kisses and hand holds we’ve all been witness to for years on end now — and now it seems that Donald himself may have questioned that a time or two as well.
On July 13th, scandal-plagued and felony-convicted former President Donald Trump was the target of a bona fide assassination attempt during his Butler, Pennsylvania campaign rally, when 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks fired several rounds from an AR-15 rifle from a nearby rooftop.
The ex-president, as we all know now, miraculously survived the attempt on his life, sustaining only a minor flesh wound to the top of his right ear that left a rather dramatic splattering of blood across his face when he first stood up on the stage, following the tackle to the floor by his Secret Service detail.
However, there were a few brief moments there where Donald’s condition hung in the balance for the American people — and, according to Trump, anyway, for his wife as well.

“She was watching,” Trump said of his wife in an interview with Fox News’ Laura Ingraham. “She was watching live. It was all over the place. It was on television.”
Trump went on to claim that his wife is unable to even speak about that horrific day — but don’t worry, according to him, that just means she loves him… Or at least likes him.
“She can’t even really talk about it. That’s okay, that means she likes me — she loves me. If she could talk about it freely, I’m not so sure which is better. She either likes or loves me, that’s nice,” Trump bizarrely told the Fox host.
According to Donald, his wife believed that “the worst had happened” to him on that stage, due to the intense response from the former president’s Secret Service protective detail, who tackled him to the ground, rushed him off the stage, and immediately transported him to the closest hospital.
We would certainly hope that a marriage had more indicators of love, care, and compassion than almost getting shot. But, when it comes to the Trump marriage, I can’t say that I’m overly surprised.

Ingraham: What was Melania’s reaction?
Trump: She was watching live. It was all over the place. I asked her that, I mean, I wasn’t there. I was on… pic.twitter.com/2CYLRuSBw4
