A lot of wild claims have been made about Joe Biden from his political opponents, from the idea that he suffered from dementia for his entire presidency, that he took bribes from overseas, to his son Hunter bringing cocaine to the White House.
The idea that Biden tried to force a divorce between Donald and Melania Trump, however, is a new one.
In an interview this week on Newsmax, as cited by The Daily Beast, the president’s third-oldest child was asked about the indictment of former FBI director James Comey, and the idea that he was selected for prosecution by the Trump Administration. Eric went on to claim that his family had been treated that way by the Biden Administration.

“They came after me like I was a dog,” Eric Trump said in the Newsmax interview, borrowing a favorite expression of his father’s.
“The FBI and the DOJ spied on my father’s campaign. They de-platformed him. They weaponized every attorney general and every district attorney around the country. They indicted him 91 times, 34 times in a bogus trial in New York City,” Eric said, telling some half-truths about things that happened to his father; there is no “they,” as Trump’s indictments came from different jurisdictions. Nor did the FBI or DOJ cause Trump to be deplatformed from social media sites.
“They posted his mugshot. He’s the most recognizable person in the world. They posted his mugshot even though they didn’t need to. It totally backfired on him. They gagged him over and over and over! They raided his home! They raided Mar-a-Lago! They tried to get him divorced! They tried to separate our family! They tried to go after our employees! They attacked us. They tried to bankrupt our company. They de-platformed us! They stripped every bank account away from me and the Trump Organization that you can imagine,” Eric said.
It’s not clear why Eric believes that the government, or the Biden Administration, was trying to separate his father and stepmother. But it’s clear he blames Biden.
“Joe Biden was at the forefront of all of it when they raided our home, when they raided Mar-a-Lago, when they raided Melania’s closet, when they raided 16-year-old Barron’s room.”
