During Donald Trump’s second inauguration back in January, President Donald Trump’s youngest son, Barron, was spotted briefly speaking to outgoing President Joe Biden.  As Fox News reported at the time, “the youngest first son shook Biden’s and Harris’ hands shortly after his father took the oath of office as the 47th president of the United States.”

It was never reported exactly what Barron had said to Biden at that moment, but this week, his older brother Eric revealed what Barron had said, after dismissing speculation from “lip-readers” and others, that Barron had said something hostile to the man who defeated his father in the 2020 election.

“One night I call Barron and I go, ‘Buddy, what did you actually say?’ And it was something so polite I almost wouldn’t even get it right,” Eric Trump said this week in an interview with Megyn Kelly.

“But like, ‘Congratulations, and best of luck to you,’ or something like that. Something very respectable.”

One report had a lip-reading expert believing that Barron had said, “it’s good to see you, man,” to which Biden had replied, “Exactly.” But lip-reading is, as always, an inexact science.

Some social media users had other theories about what was said that day.

Back in October, it was reported that Barron Trump had been “tipped for” a top job with TikTok, once the sale of the social media app to American owners is finalized. However, that report was always thin and appears to have merely been a suggestion by Jack Advent, a former Trump social media manager.

Barron remains a college undergraduate, while no solid reporting has emerged since October, showing that the president’s son would get such a job. In addition, the TikTok sale has not yet been finalized.

“But nearly a year after the app should have been kicked out of the US, TikTok remains widely available, thanks to intervention from the administration of President Donald Trump. A promised acquisition by US investors, brokered through Trump, has been stalled for months. And the lawmakers who passed the ban are largely staying quiet,” The Verge reported earlier this week.
