Scandal-plagued and felony-convicted former President Trump is soon to be forced to go toe-to-toe with current Vice President Kamala Harris after President Biden formally announced that he was dropping out of the 2024 presidential race and throwing his official endorsement behind his sitting VP — and basically no one in Trumpworld is handling that well.
The blatantly sexist, racist, and hateful attacks against Harris instantly came out in full swing as soon as the announcement was made, and one GOP lawmaker has gone so far as to try to impeach Kamala, in a desperate attempt to save Donald Trump’s ass.
It’s gotten so bad, in fact, that short-lived former House Speaker and staunch Republican Kevin McCarthy spoke out to flame his own party for their racist dog whistle behavior and rhetoric.
One of the GOP’s biggest talking points consists of their attempts to cast Kamala Harris as a “DEI” selection, suggesting that she was not chosen based on merit, achievements, and confidence in her abilities but rather as a token of “diversity, equity, and inclusion” for the Democratic party on their presidential ticket.

Recently, Tennessee Republican House Rep. Tim Burchett told CNN, “One hundred percent, she was a DEI hire.”
Apparently, this took things a step too far, even for McCarthy’s sensibilities.
Appearing on NBC’s Meet The Press, the former Republican House Speaker called his fellow GOP congresspeople’s attacks against Harris “stupid and dumb.”
“A lot of people already think that attack line is racist,” NBC News’ Garrett Haake told McCarthy before going on to ask, “Are you confident that your party and Donald Trump can stay on the other side of the line and not delve into racially charged or racist attacks on a Black female candidate?”
McCarthy’s response was a lengthy and rather fiery one:
Two attacks I’ve heard Republicans give that are totally stupid and dumb to do is the DEI attack, ok? The other attack that I would not do is saying that the president has to resign. That would be an advantage for Kamala. Air Force One is very powerful when it lands somewhere. And you know what? Something will happen between now and the election. A hurricane or something else. And she’ll be able to present herself as a leader. Or maybe there’s some foreign policy. That is a mistake for any leader to go out and say that on the Republican side.
This DEI, that seems like a petty– look, I disagree with DEI, but she is the vice president of the United States. She is the former U.S. senator. These congressmen that are saying it, they’re wrong in their own instincts.”
Your own people are calling you out, guys. Maybe it’s time to do a little reflecting.
