News recently broke that prosecutors with the United States Department of Justice have now formally requested an order of protection against Donald J. Trump, following a public and openly threatening social media post made by the scandal-plagued former president yesterday afternoon, just one day after his bombshell arraignment on criminal charges related to his efforts to tamper with the 2020 presidential election.
On Thursday of last week, former President Donald Trump was formally arraigned on his fourth bombshell, historical criminal indictment — the third to come down on his head by Garland-appointed DOJ Special Counsel Jack Smith.
The arraignment was just Trump’s most recent appearance before a court of law, this time on a variety of criminal charges lodged against him by Special Counsel Smith, on behalf of the US Depart of Justice, from his alleged crimes related to his efforts to overthrow the 2020 United States presidential election, including the infamous, deadly January 6th Capitol attack.
This was Donald Trump’s third formal, criminal arraignment.

On that Friday afternoon, Trump took to his Truth Social platform, where he penned this cryptic and openly threatening message to anyone who dares to “go after” him — more specifically, Special Counsel Jack Smith and his prosecutors:
IF YOU GO AFTER ME, I’M COMING AFTER YOU!”
By that Friday evening, the Justice Department proposed a protective order on the basis of the ex-president’s Truth Social post, arguing that this threatening message along with additional similar messages Trump is likely to make in the near future “could have a harmful chilling effect on witnesses.”
In true Trump fashion, the disgraced former president and his official campaign have chosen to openly double down on and vehemently defend Donald’s unhinged threats.
Now, one of his own former White House officials has broken her silence on her ex-boss’ “chilling” threat, and questioning how far Trump will be willing to take this.
Former Trump White House aide Stephanie Grisham appeared on CNN’s OutFront with fill-in host Brianna Keilar, who asked Grisham — a now staunch and vocal critic of Donald Trump — for her raw, unfiltered reaction to the ex-president’s open threats.
“Well, I think it’s chilling,” Grisham answered. “Legally, it doesn’t seem like it’s very smart. But how is that not intimidation? And you know, what other people are going to take a message from that? As we have seen and heard, people really believe that Donald Trump sent them to the Capitol and people really felt like hours later when he said to stop, they listened.”
Trump is facing additional legal troubles due to his infamous role in inciting a mob of his devout supporters into deadly violence at the Capitol building on January 6th, 2021, in what was a last-ditch attempt to stop Congress’ official Electoral College certification of Joe Biden’s presidential victory over Donald J. Trump.
“And so, I just don’t understand,” Grisham went on to add. “Does someone have to get hurt before people take this kind of online intimidation seriously? The people – and I know he’s pointing out the prosecutors – but you know, as somebody who gets death threats every other day, it makes me nervous. It should make anybody who’s ever spoken out against him nervous. And that’s a lot of people.”
