The Speaker of the North Carolina House of Representatives has been implicated in an alleged scheme, in which he is said to have wielded his power to secure sexual favor for himself, including derogatory and group sex acts, according to new reporting.
NC Republican House Speaker Tim Moore is now being sued by an individual named Scott Lassiter, who alleged that Moore carried out a long-running and power-imbalanced affair with his wife, Jamie Liles Lassiter, who serves as executive director of the North Carolina Conference of Clerks of Superior Court. The state of North Carolina is one of a few that allows spouses to lodge civil lawsuits to seek damages for extramarital affairs and destroyed marriages. In his lawsuit against Moore, Scott Lassiter is seeking $25,000 in damages from the NC House Speaker. However, it’s not the money that’s really serving as the real damage for Tim Moore, as much as it is the damning and, frankly, disgusting allegations that are contained in Lassiter’s bombshell lawsuit.
In his lawsuit, Jamie Liles Lassiter’s soon-to-be ex-husband alleges that the affair “revealed a perverse form of symbiosis in which [Moore] persuaded her to engage in degrading acts to satisfy his desires, recognizing that Mrs. Lassiter hoped her acquiescence to his demands would result in Defendant Tim Moore supporting favorable action for the organization she represents.” The civil suit goes on to claim that Jamie participated in “degrading sexual acts with” Tim Moore that included but were not limited to “group sexual activity with others over whom he had power or influence.” The lawsuit further alleges that “she feared ending the relationship with Defendant Tim Moore would result in losing her job.”
Scott claims that his soon-to-be ex-wife “tearfully confessed” to the years-long extramarital affair with the North Carolina GOP House Speaker after he’d had her tailed and surveilled, ultimately claiming to have busted her on a date with Moore back in December of 2022.

Not only Tim Moore, but Jamie Lassiter as well have both vehemently denied the allegations being lodged in Scott’s civil lawsuit. Moore’s spokesperson has called the ordeal a “baseless lawsuit from a troubled individual,” while Jamie’s attorney released a statement dubbing it an “outrageous and defamatory suit.”
Jamie also released her own, personal statement, in which she accused her husband of being the abuser:
To be clear, I’m a strong professional woman, and the only person who has ever abused me or threatened my career was my soon to be ex-husband. Our marriage was a nightmare, and since I left him it has gotten worse. We are reaching the end of our divorce process and this is how he’s lashing out.”
Jamie further adds that the allegations made by her soon-to-be ex-husband “are not only false but impossible as we’ve been separated with a signed separation document for years.”
