Fox talking head Tucker Carlson is once again shamelessly spitting in the faces of a deceased Capitol police officer’s family, as he used a recent network segment to double down on his claims that 42-year-old police officer Brian Sicknick’s death, the officer who was sprayed in the face with an unknown substance during the January 6th Capitol insurrection and died the very next day, had nothing to do with the infamous, deadly J6 attack — despite demands and pleas from Sicknick’s family aimed at Fox News to just shut the hell up about their late loved one.
Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick was one of many law enforcement officials to respond to the violence at the Capitol, after a rabid mod of Donald Trump’s supporters stormed the government building, with Congress and the vice president inside, in a desperate attempt to stop the certification of Joe Biden’s Electoral College win over Trump in the 2020 presidential election. Rioters sprayed Sicknick with what officials believe was some sort of chemical substance in the midst of the insurrection.
The very next day, Sicknick suffered not one, but two strokes, and ultimately succumbed to the physical damage they wreaked on his body and brain. A report from the medical examiner noted Sicknick’s death as a result of natural causes — as strokes are pretty much always considered to be. However, a deeper investigation via an autopsy of Sicknick’s body confirmed that “all that had transpired played a role in his condition,” making clear reference to Sickick’s involvement in defending the Capitol during the attack just one day before his untimely death.
Tucker Carlson has made a long-running habit of invoking Sicknick’s death in his defense of what he calls the “mostly peaceful” Capitol attack. Following a segment on Monday, in which he once again raised the topic of the deceased officer, Sicknick’s grieving family took aim at the Right-wing network and their sickening use of their late family member’s death to further their disgusting agenda in a statement released by the family:
The Sicknick Family would love nothing more than to have Brian back with us and to resume our normal lives. Fictitious news outlets like Fox and its rabid followers will not allow that. Every time the pain of that day seems to have ebbed a bit, organizations like Fox rip our wounds wide open again and we are frankly sick of it. Leave us the hell alone and instead of spreading more lies from Supreme Leader Trump, why don’t you focus on real news?”

Carlson not only blatantly ignored the family’s pleas, he openly spit in their faces the very next day, when he opened Wednesday’s Fox segment, once again invoking Sicknick’s death and attempting to invalidate and question the findings of the late officer’s autopsy.
“Consider the death of police officer Brian Sicknick,” Tucker declared in yesterday’s Fox segment. “Now, we still don’t exactly how Officer Sicknick died. We’re not certain that anyone does know. No one has explained it. But after reviewing the previously withheld video evidence, we can tell you with certainty that Officer Sicknick was not beaten to death by Trump voters at the Capitol. The tape shows very clearly Brian Sicknick walking through the building in apparent health after the media told us for two years that he had been murdered.”
Officer Brian Sicknick was one of 5 law enforcement officials to pass away in the wake of the riot, with four other officers committing suicide in the coming days after the attack. It remains unclear to what extent, if any, the heinous Capitol insurrection played into the officers’ decisions to end their lives, but Tucker Carlson really wants you to believe it’s zero.
