Trump White House aide Natalie Harp’s name was all over the news for a time last month, after Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-GA) made certain vague insinuations about her relationship with the president. But just as the story was starting to lose steam, it’s suddenly back this week, thanks to a Politico story about some curious payments.
Politico reported that the president gave Harp and two other aides $45,000 “cash gifts for the holidays” last year. This was in addition to the $150,000 annual salaries Harp, Chamberlain Harris, and Margo Martin earned. The AP reported that director of Oval Office operations and Trump’s one-time codefendant Walt Nauta also received a $20,000 gift.
“The President has a longstanding practice of giving Christmas gifts to people in his orbit, including at times employees and aides, both in government and in his time in the private sector,” a White House spokesperson told Politico about the gifts. “The gifts at issue here have nothing to do with any of these individuals’ official government duties, and, therefore, are entirely permissible under relevant legal and ethical standards.”
In addition to the “Human Printer,” Harris is the deputy director of Oval Office operations and an executive assistant to the president, while Martin is a communications adviser.

Harp, according to that newspaper, “was reportedly around the commander-in-chief all weekend at his golf club in New Jersey as he fired off countless strange social media posts, such as an apparently AI-generated cartoon of himself attacking Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney and multiple threats to rename New Mexico.”
The woman known as the “Human Printer,” the report added, was “photographed by journalists on Friday boarding the presidential helicopter around the same time as Trump as it headed to Bedminster National Golf Club. She later appeared in a photo shared on Sunday from pro-Trump media personality Michael Solakiewicz. In the image, she appears to be typing on a tablet behind the president as he dines at Bedminster.”
