Highly controversial Republican House Rep. Lauren Boebert got owned on the House floor by her Democrat colleague, who kept his receipts and effectively threw them back in Boebert’s face when he cited words straight from the mouth of Lauren’s beloved former President Donald Trump in response to her attempt to rewrite the history of the COVID-19 pandemic and turn the blame onto current POTUS Joe Biden, instead of where it belongs, at the feet of her favorite, scandal-ridden ex-president.
Yesterday, a House Oversight Committee hearing took place, where the Right-wing Colorado House rep. went off on a tangent about pandemic-era mask and vaccine mandates.
“You’re right. President Trump was in office when the COVID virus was released from a lab in China,” Boebert fumed in a rambling rant from the House floor. “And he tried to make that very clear that this came from China, and reporters regularly dismissed that.”
However, Lauren’s fellow House Rep. and former key member of the now disbanded January 6th House Select Committee, Jamie Raskin, was quick and sharp in his rebuttal against the fringe Right congresswoman, making clear note of the fact that Boebert had conveniently left some very key details out of her tirade, including Donald Trump’s repeated public praises for Chinese President Xi Jinping as well as openly hailing China’s supposed “control” over the situation as the deadly virus spread around the globe wreaking havoc and filling graves in its wake.

“I appreciate the gentlelady’s passion. There’s two facts that she should perhaps be alerted to,” Raskin opened in his response to Boebert. “One is that Donald Trump, on more than 20 different occasions, defended the performance of the Chinese government and specifically President Xi in terms of his treatment of COVID-19 and said he was doing a ‘wonderful job’ and a ‘great job’ and they were working closely and they were constantly in touch.”
“So, if there’s a problem with the Chinese government unleashing a virus ― which has not been proven anywhere, but it certainly could be true ― you would have to pin that on your favorite president, Donald Trump, not on Joe Biden.”
Raskin went on to pointedly note a passage in Trump’s White House COVID-19 advisor Deborah Birx’s recent book, in which she wrote that hundreds of thousands of American COVID-19 deaths were a direct result of Donald J. Trump’s pandemic policies.
“So you don’t have to believe anybody on the Democratic side of the aisle. That’s Donald Trump’s own special adviser on COVID-19,” Jamie shot across the political aisle.

A gut-wrenching 1 million-plus Americans have died from COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic. Multiple medical, health, and infectious disease experts have come forward and said that so many of those deaths could have been prevented if the Trump Administration had acted more quickly and far more appropriately to the deadly pandemic in its early days.
In a 2021 House hearing, Deborah Birx testified that she believes the Trump Administration botched an opportunity to save up to 40 percent of the lives lost to COVID-19 in the US.
