As we expected, more and more revelations about now-former President Donald Trump have been coming to light now that he’s once again a private American citizen. Some have been appalling, some pathetic, and some, like this one, have been downright disgusting.
Former 60 Minutes producer Ira Rosen has recently written a new book chock full of cringe-worthy details, including some surrounding a White House conversation between Donald Trump and an editor with the National Enquirer, during which the then-president spilled some tea on his affair with model Karen McDougal.
According to a report from The Daily Beast’s Lloyd Grove, Rosen’s book is a montage of tales about the culture that surrounds the infamous Sunday night news program, as well as an attempt to clean up and salvage his own personal and professional reputation after he was “accused of creepy sexualized behavior toward younger women (allegations he heatedly rejects) as he tried in late 2018 to save the reputation of his longtime boss, then-executive producer, and former CBS News chairman Jeff Fager.”
Within the pages of the 60 Minutes tell-all, titled Ticking Clock: Behind the Scenes at 60 Minutes, is an alleged conversation had between Donald Trump and Dylan Howard of the Inquirer — meant to help Trump diffuse unflattering stories about himself and hide the hush money payments with the assistance of publisher David Pecker — when the producer for the popular late night news show was trying to line Howard up for an interview.

Rosen reveals in the book that Howard asked Trump about McDougal, a former Playboy model who had recently sat down for an interview with CNN’s Anderson Cooper to discuss her affair with the former real estate “mogul” and reality tv washup. At one point in their conversation, Trump told Howard that he once had a special, secret nickname for his mistress, and to say the very least, we’re struggling to hang on to our lunches.
Grove with the Daily Beast reports from an excerpt of the book:
Trump had invited Howard and National Enquirer publisher David Pecker for dinner on July 12, 2017. Howard told me that while touring the executive residence of the White House, when he was just outside the Lincoln Bedroom, the president said to him, ‘Editor man, I’m glad I’ve been good for business.’
He then asked if the former Playboy model Karen McDougal still loved him. ‘Of course she does,’ Howard said. Trump seemed pleased. Trump then told Howard the secret nickname he had for her, ‘the Hoover Dam,’ Trump said, ‘because she was always so wet.'”
The Daily Beast reports that they asked Howard to verify the story but have yet to receive a reply.
