Every workplace has its quirks. Few involve chasing a golf cart across a Scottish fairway with a portable printer strapped to your side, but apparently that’s just Tuesday for one member of Trump’s inner circle.
Natalie Harp, the 35-year-old aide nicknamed “the Human Printer,” has spent recent weeks generating headlines for her relentless devotion to Trump. Her signature move involves trailing him with a physical printer, ready to hand over freshly printed compliments the moment he wants them. It’s an odd habit, and reportedly one that’s even left the Secret Service uneasy.
Former Deputy Press Secretary Sarah Matthews isn’t shocked by any of it. She held the role from June 2020 through January 2021, resigning after the Capitol attack, and has since become one of the administration’s more vocal former insiders.
Speaking on the Bulwark Media YouTube channel, Matthews recalled the kind of tasks staffers used to handle for Trump during her time in the building, including aides who would “steam his pants while he was still wearing them.” She described a workplace where employees went to remarkable lengths just to stay in his good graces, calling Harp’s behavior simply the newest chapter in a much older pattern.

Harp’s own devotion runs deeper than printouts, based on letters she’s reportedly written to Trump.
In one, she signed off calling him her “Guardian and Protector in this Life,” a phrase that sits closer to a personal vow than anything typical of office correspondence. Other letters reportedly describe wanting to always stay in his good graces and worrying about ever disappointing him.

Officials close to the operation insist this level of loyalty is exactly what makes the arrangement work. Harp reportedly serves as a genuine bridge between Trump and the outside world, coordinating with allies, arranging meetings, and drafting his Truth Social posts in addition to her printing duties.
Matthews sees it from the outside looking in. People beyond Trump’s circle find the behavior baffling, she said, but inside the operation, setting aside normal boundaries to cater to his preferences tends to get rewarded rather than questioned.
There’s also been chatter about Trump’s own appearance lately, with some commentators dubbing him the “oompiest of loompas.” Between the wardrobe jokes and the printer routine, it’s been a strange stretch for anyone trying to track what actually counts as normal inside this White House.
