Former Vice President Issues Alarming Prediction About What Lies Ahead In Trump’s Remaining Term

Warning signs everywhere

An ex-Trump insider is offering a blunt warning about what may come next.

Former Vice President Mike Pence says Donald Trump could face impeachment again if Democrats win the midterm elections. He shared the warning during an interview on CNN’s The Source with Kaitlan Collins.

Pence said he agrees with Trump’s own belief that Democrats would act quickly if they regain power. He made it clear he thinks impeachment would be almost certain in today’s divided political climate.

“I think it’s very likely,” Pence said. “I mean, they impeached the president for a phone call when we were in office, and I expect it in this highly divided, partisan town.”

The split between Pence and Trump did not happen quietly. It came after the January 6 attack on the Capitol in 2021. In the weeks before the riot, Trump repeatedly pushed a false claim that Pence could block the certification of the 2020 election.

When Pence followed the law and certified Joe Biden’s win, Trump turned on him. That anger spilled into the Capitol that day, when rioters shouted threats aimed directly at the vice president.

Trump later became the first U.S. president ever to be impeached twice. The second impeachment centered on his role in the January 6 attack.

His first impeachment came years earlier. In 2019, Trump was accused of pressuring Ukraine by holding back military aid while asking President Volodymyr Zelensky to investigate Hunter Biden. The Senate acquitted him both times.

Now, Trump is facing fresh political danger. Polls suggest Democrats could perform well in the midterms. History shows the party in power often loses seats, especially when voters are unhappy.

Trump has openly admitted he sees the risk. Speaking to House Republicans, he warned them about what could happen if they lose control.

“You gotta win the midterms,” he said. “Because if we don’t win the midterms, it’s just going to be—I mean, they’ll find a reason to impeach me. I’ll get impeached.”

Pence also pointed to Trump’s recent actions overseas. He suggested that attacking Venezuela without congressional approval, and the capture of Nicolás Maduro, could create more trouble for Trump as his term continues.

As he closed, Pence tried to frame himself as a voice for unity. He said Americans want something different now.

“The year that Ronald Reagan won 49 states, they were the very same principles that President Trump and I governed on,” Pence said. “And whatever time I have left remaining in the public debate, I’m going to continue to be a consistent advocate for that broad, mainstream conservative agenda.”
