Fox News Host Points Finger At Trump, Not Harris, As The ‘Real Holdup’ In Debate Drama

This is bad news for Trump

Recently, Bret Baier, a well-known anchor on Fox News, shared some surprising thoughts about the upcoming debate between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris. He said that Trump, not Harris, is the main reason why a second debate is not happening. This claim might surprise many people, but it raises important questions about Trump’s behavior and attitude toward debates.

During a conversation with radio host Hugh Hewitt, Baier stated,

“I actually believe that the Harris campaign would do a Fox debate if the former president has come to the conclusion that there really shouldn’t be another debate.”

In simple terms, Baier thinks that Harris is ready to debate on Fox News, but Trump is the one holding things back. This situation is crucial because debates are a significant part of elections. They give voters a chance to see the candidates side by side and hear their ideas directly.

Trump’s reluctance to participate in debates is not a new behavior. In the 2016 election, he often avoided tough situations where he might have to answer hard questions. For example, he skipped a debate in Iowa, believing it would not help him win. However, he later attended other debates when he felt it was safe. Baier suggested that Trump is afraid of facing the large audience that a Fox News debate would attract, saying it would be “like a bug zapper in the backyard.” This means that Trump might feel trapped under the bright lights of public scrutiny.

In a recent debate hosted by ABC News, Trump and Harris faced off, and many viewers felt that Harris performed better. After that debate, Harris accepted an invitation from CNN to have another debate next month, but Trump rejected it. He cited that “early voting is already underway in some states” as his reason for not participating. This excuse does not sit well with many voters who want to hear from both candidates before making their choices.

Trump has shown a preference for having debates moderated by Fox News’ prime-time hosts instead of anchors like Baier or Martha MacCallum. This suggests that Trump wants to control the situation, avoiding difficult questions. He seems to prefer an easy game rather than facing tough opponents. By doing this, Trump may be trying to create a more comfortable environment for himself, but it also raises questions about his confidence.

Moreover, many people believe that Harris may not feel comfortable debating on Fox News, given that the network often criticizes her and President Biden’s policies. This adds another layer to the situation. Trump’s refusal to engage in debates on neutral platforms suggests he may not want to face Harris directly. Many Americans see her as a strong candidate, and Trump might fear losing the debate.

But why is Trump avoiding the debates? Baier’s comments highlight a big issue in this election. It seems Trump is the one holding back, not Harris. Voters want to hear both candidates discuss their plans. If Trump keeps dodging debates, it makes him look scared. As the election gets closer, people should think twice about a candidate who runs away from tough questions.
