Embattled Rep. Matt Gaetz responded to a link that Fox New’s Sean Hannity tweeted out regarding Twitter allowing the Taliban to use their social media platform; and yet, former President Donald Trump is banned for inciting the deadly Jan. 6 insurrection. It’s a bit weird that Gaetz compared the twice-impeached one-term president to the Taliban’s situation, but here we are. The MAGA congressman said that the “Taliban and Trump should both be on Twitter” and added, “More legitimate than the last government in Afghanistan or the current government here.” I’m starting to get the feeling that a lot of Republicans are on the Taliban’s side after it toppled Afghanistan’s government.
Taliban and Trump should both be on Twitter.
More legitimate than the last government in Afghanistan or the current government here. https://t.co/VN7oxtCHk8

Twitter users piled in.
What part of PRIVATE COMPANY do you not understand?? Twitter has TERMS OF SERVICE and they get to DECIDE who is on the platform. Do you have a problem with CAPITALISM?

Gaetz hitched his wagon to an anchor that’s already lying on the bottom of the sea. Trump is gone and out of power. The former president doesn’t even have an account on any major social media platform. It’s called consequences. Apparently, Gaetz isn’t familiar with that word yet.
