Gavin Newsom Has Found A New, Perfect Way To Troll Trump

Gavin Newsom did not need a speech to mock Donald Trump this week. He did not need a tweet. He did not even need a joke.

All he needed was a pen.

When the California governor released a letter asking President Trump for federal disaster aid, the request itself was serious. Fires, floods, and damaged communities do not leave room for games. The words on the page were measured, respectful, and focused on cooperation.

Then came the signature.

Bold. Oversized. Heavy with Sharpie energy.

It looked familiar for a reason.

Trump’s signature has long been part of his political theater. Big strokes. Sharp points. Maximum attention. It is less a name than a performance, the handwritten version of a rally chant.

Newsom copied it almost perfectly.

This is not new territory for the California governor.

Newsom has spent years turning Trump’s style against him. He has sold parody MAGA hats. He has fired off all-caps tweets that read like Trump rants written by someone who understands punctuation. He has released mock medical letters poking fun at Trump’s obsession with strength and stamina.
